Why Christmas Costume Cards? Just Bec-cause!
It seems like only yesterday I was stuffing my face with Easter eggs, yet we’re already preparing for Christmas! (In fairness, I WAS stuffing my face with Easter eggs. They had turned a little white, but when a man on the corner is selling chocolate from a supermarket trolley at a ridiculous discount, you buy it!)
The rest of my family is back in Australia, so what’s the best way to remind them that I miss them and that I’m not jealous of the amazing, sunny, delicious BBQ they’ll be having? Christmas Cards!
I’ve always liked things that have more than one use. I’m also a big fan of fancy dress. So naturally, when I was coming up with card ideas, I thought a card which could double up as a costume would be a sure-fire winner.
At first, all my designs were things that people could cut out and wear, but by using MOO Rectangular Labels, I was able to create some nice stick-on accessories as well.
There is certainly still a hand-made element – both in drawing the designs and also cutting out and gluing the stickers to the cards themselves. I also plan on using a sewing machine (without thread) to perforate around my designs, so you don’t even need scissors to cut them out.
I’m looking forward to seeing photos of my friends and family dressed up as pirates and cowboys on Christmas Day (that’s if I haven’t died of food poisoning by then)!

I am definitely going to have to remember Christmas Costume cards for next year. Or the next holiday I can use as an excuse to do something similar. Name Your Car Day? Physician Assistant Day? Count Your Buttons Day? So many holidays, so little time.
