According to staff accounts it was a very (we repeat, very!) cold morning when Daniel arrived at the US MOO office. He was then quickly scooped up by Steve and Paul (visting from the UK) and given a tour of the warehouse. This went down a treat as he was shown the physical creation of many MOO Products including our Luxe Cards.
Soon after, Daniel spent some time with MOO CEO, Richard Moross (where we can only assume they discussed the amazing cake waiting outside).
With the staff wrangled into the common room, Paul Lewis started off by explaining to Daniel and the staff why the MOO Award was such a big deal for MOO. Daniel was then more than happy to tell the MOO staff the MONO story.
He started off dreaming of being a musician – a rock-star to be exact – and once he realized that this dream might be quite far off, he decided to look at his other passion, design.
Daniel had worked for a few design companies when – after a lengthy and inspiring discussion with a recruitment consultant – he was offered a job at IDEO, a global design company. At the end of his tenure he decided to try to do something on his own, to create something which is more than just a functional product. This is how MONO was born.
Once all the questions (and cake) were finished, Daniel decided to show his drumming skills, which were very impressive.
Congratulations again Daniel and the rest of your MONO team! Drop us a line whenever you’re in Providence. Rumor has it we’re due a rematch on both the billiard and ping pong tables.
