About the designer preview

This design is inspired by Hurtig and Seamon’s theatre in New York, founded by Jules Hurtig and Harry Seamon. They had those interchangeable letters outside on the hoardings, advertising the current features, and those letters had to be tall and condensed to accommodate long film titles as well as actors with long names. This gave everything a monolithic sense of scale.
