One of the most important things we do at MOO is print your photos to the highest possible standard.
As you can imagine, we receive images from a wide variety of sources, from digital cameras made for 'home use' to high-end cameras used in professional photo studios. We receive images checked on calibrated screens in specially controlled darkened rooms - and photos that have been prepared on a dusty old PC sitting next to a window as the sun streams in.
We like to be inclusive here - and think that everyone's photos deserve the best we can give them.
Photo Enhancement is an optional check that can look at every photograph you upload. It adjusts a range of parameters, making each photo look as good as it possibly can before it reaches the printing press.
Our software performs a variety of tasks to enhance the way each photo will print. It's important to remember that this is a dynamic system - meaning it will check each photo individually and adjust settings accordingly.
It sounds complicated, but when it's applied you'll see your photos looking as vivid, and as brilliant, as they possibly can. Below you will see an example of Photo Enhancement at work:

We recommend that you only use Photo Enhancement on the photographs you upload. Our software has been fine-tuned to work with photographs specifically, and it can cause some unexpected changes to artwork, be it lineart, bitmap or vector, scans of paintings etc.
Photo Enhancement does not work for images embedded into a PDF.
When we identify an image as a photo, Photo Enhancement is switched on by default.
It's easy to disable on any or all of your photos by clicking the link in the overlay on any image.
Photo Enhancement is only available for images uploaded directly to MOO from your computer. However, Flickr has its own image editing tools which you can find by clicking the 'Edit Photo' button above each Flickr-hosted image.
